This turret has been machines with the highest of tollerances, to make sure your punches work as they should. All turrets will come keyed, to allow for non-circular punches.
The Turret for your RTP 118 comes in two different sizes. One for Euro B punches, and one for Euro D. If you are unsure which tooling size you have, you can simply check the number of stations. If your turret allows for 9 upper and lower punches, you have a Euro B machine. If your turret allows for 7 upper and lower punches, you have a Euro D.
The life span of a turret can vary, but over time it will wear down and need to be replaced. The occurs over time as the punches move up and down through the turret, waring down the bores inside of it.
If a turret has not been maintained regularly with careful cleaning oiling and greasing then its life will be dramatically reduced. The typical tolerance for a rotary tablet press turret is ± 0.01mm according to the ISO 180084 standards. It is a good idea from time to time to check the tolerance of your turret as if it moves out of specification this can result in faster wear of your tablet press tooling and eventually catastrophic failure of your tablet press.
